Interesting week

This week we had a lot of stuff going on. On Tuesday we had a lesson scheduled with a lady that we tracted into. The first time that we met with her she was super nice and she wanted to know more about our church. She said that she loves the BYU channel but doesn't watch it when a church service is on. So the second time that we met with her we brought a member with us and when we knocked on her door she was happy to see us but her countenance was a bit different. After talking for a little bit we started to ask her if she had any questions that we could answer. She said that she had some questions. The first question that came out  was, "what about the scripture in revelation 22:18 that says to not add to or take away from this book?" as soon as she said that question we  knew that she had talked to someone that is anti-mormon. The reason being because nobody randomly comes across that scripture in their studies. She said that scripture proves that there is no more of the word of God such as the book of mormon, that there is only the bible. I really do not like that scripture because that is what people think and they don't do any research about it. We told her that it also says the same thing in deuteronomy 4:2 and by her definition the whole bible except for the first 5 books are not the word of god as well. She didn't believe that the scripture in deuteronomy 4:2 was really true. so we  then  told her that the book of revelation was written before most of the books in the new testament. She didn't quite want to believe that either. She said, "well I guess we will have to agree do disagree." it was a very interesting conversation.

Mormons  believe the bible to be the word of god they believe the book of Mormon the be the word of god they also believe that some scriptures are yet to be revealed to us  and are hidden. We have a living prophet today, god has not forgotten his sons and daughters. He loves each and everyone of us and we are entitled to his grace and truthfulness. His gospel is a gospel of second chances. One of my favorite scripture's is PROVERBS 18:9 "He that is slothful in his work is brother to him that is a great waster". I love this definition of laziness, procrastination, and idleness. We must search out what is real and what is not. We can pray to know the truth of the things we read, if there is unclear answers then I believe that is not from god. Mormons believe that faith takes action you can not be saved by gods grace alone but you will be judged by the things you have accomplished and done in your life. We cannot be SLOTHFUL! Scriptures were written anciently but can have a very valid impact on our life today, its important to read them, and understand their meaning. They are the word of god. We can talk to god through prayer, and he answers us through his scriptures. You can find any answer to your prayers if you earnestly seek. He is there, he is listening, he will answer,  I truly believe that.  Misty

Friday and Saturday it rained REALLY hard for quite a while. On saturday after dinner we were going to go tracting and it was a really nice day, then all of the sudden it turned into a downpour with hail! we drove to the church and even when we had to run inside we got soaked!!! Also during the weekend we went to the father and sons campout.

S. came to church on sunday and she loved it!!!. It was a pretty good week this week.

Its also really sad to hear that elder L. Tom Perry passed away this past week.
